KRAFTSALZ marks a new class of culinary delights in gastronomy

The HIGH END taste & place award combines two essential components in gastronomy: taste and place.

Just like the unique salt, which stands for good taste and a special place, the award represents places of good taste.
It is always about the maxim of the senses and feelings. If the cuisine is able to delight the palate, if the hosts are able to enchant the guests in the dining room and if all this happens in a place that is exceptional, then the high end of what is possible in gastronomy has been reached.
This has to be communicated to the world and is taken over by the award.

HIGH END taste & place is not a public award

Only true gastronomy experts can present the award. The award is presented once and is subject to two on-site visits. If both visits result in a high level of enjoyment, the award is presented. Forever.

Why an award for eternity?
If the outstanding performance of the hosts and the exceptional food in combination with the location in which everything takes place is to the complete satisfaction of the guest, then this performance must be recognized beyond doubt and talked about for eternity.

How reliable is the award?
To be honored means to publicly express responsibility and to be honored also means to assume and bear responsibility. These things must never be done lightly.

All recommendations of a restaurant made by guests are of course legitimate. Today, we have numerous opportunities to give our feedback publicly, to recommend, to tear, etc.. Even if a recommendation is always purely subjective and based on personal taste, it is relatively easy for us to distinguish between good and bad. However, it becomes trickier when it comes to the finer points and details that determine whether a restaurant meets a certain qualification to be awarded points, stars, etc. The HIGH END taste & place award is also subjective, but very close to the truth.

My name is Raphael Dudler. I was a host for many years and as a guest I saw a lot of the world. I later founded KRAFTSALZ because tastes and places appeal to and fascinate me. With over 25 years of gastronomy experience, awards and prizes, as well as subsequent consulting for gastronomy businesses for more success & hospitality in everyday life in Switzerland, Germany and Austria, I take the liberty of stating that I know the industry, good taste, hospitality, as well as all the hardships and fears, but also the daily effort, joy and love for the profession of host.
With this award, I am fulfilling my long-cherished wish to honor deserving hosts and share the award with the public.

This is the publication of the highest emotions in gastronomy. High end. Pure and true.

HIGH END taste & place

Award and recognition of an exceptionally high level of service.
Identical to star gastronomy, where the chef cooks up the stars but the award itself remains with the restaurant when they leave (until the next award), the HIGH END taste & place award always remains with the restaurant. Hosts who change restaurants may refer to the award they have earned at their new place of work. On the other hand, new hosts who start work in a business that has already received an award are particularly challenged to do justice to the award.

If the business closes, the award expires.
